Free Football Camp
A free football camp may be available, but you must act early! By keeping a constant eye on the summer sports camps in your area, you may be able to find kids camps free for athletes.
Football camps are expensive.
In fact, it seems like almost all summer sports camps are getting more expensive each year. And, not only are the cost of kids camps going up, but the length of camp, football camps in particular, seem to be shortening.
So, it seems like campers are getting less for their money than a few years ago.
However, don't lose heart. There are some people and organizations that recognize this issue and offer free summer sports camps to young athletes.
Of course, free kids camps fill up fast and sometimes it is hard to even know where to look.
Here are a few places you may want to start your search for free football camps.
Contact your nearest NFL team
Ask about football camps the organization or individual players may be offering. Some teams are really good about giving time back to their communities through free camps and clinics.
But, don't stop there because many players actually go back to their hometowns to conduct kids camps.
Also, visit the NFL website to see what football camps the teams are hosting.
For example, Tyrod Taylor, a Baltimore Raven's player runs a free football camp in his hometown.
Look around and you will find more opportunities for free summer sports camps.
Inquire at your local high school or college
Even though they may not advertise this, sometimes school districts and colleges will waive payment for underprivileged players.
The coach may also be aware of other football camps or leagues in your area that may be free.
Check with local youth sports organizations
Your local YMCA and youth football association should be able to point you in the right direction and may be offering a camp themselves.
If you want to make sure your kid(s) get in a free camp, volunteer to help!
If all else fails and you find that there is no free kids camps in your area, why don't you think about organizing one yourself or offering to assist a coach in your area in starting one? Coaches can be awfully generous with their time for a good cause.
