About ABC Baseball Camps

Operating since 1997, America's Baseball Camps currently runs more than 700 day and overnight camps at 100 locations in 24 states for 5,000 players every year. In addition to their summer camps, they also offer baseball training camps and clinics in the winter and spring.

A typical week-long camp includes 4-6 hours of baseball training activities a day with a focus on 5 areas of fundamentals: Hitting for batting average and power, speed, arm strength, and fielding.

A typical day at their youth baseball camp includes instruction in all areas of the game with a focus on specific positions and team drills.

Pitchers and campers are often separated for skill work that's unique to their positions, and then all players join back up for general offensive and defensive training.

Afternoon sessions usually include batting practice, infield/outfield work, and games.

Players are divided into teams at the beginning of camp. They are first grouped by age and then moved if necessary for a better skill match as camp progresses and the coaches get a better idea of their skill level.

Most of the ABC camps are held in world-class facilities, including those used by Major League Baseball teams.

The all-star list of baseball camp instructors includes MLB baseball players, scouts, and managers along with college baseball coaches selected from around the country.

Depending on the camp you choose, ABC camps can be a bit pricey. They do offer different payment plans and sometimes have early bird specials, group rates, and promotional e-mails.
